Today was pretty sweet if I do say so myself. After some tide-pooling in Point Loma (Cabrillo national monument), T, baby K and me hit up the Amvets in san diego. Not much there today (sadly), but I did score a baggie of funky vintage ornaments. Which started me thinking about christmas… Which happens to be only 57 days away!!!!!!!
Anyway, the ornaments are pretty sweet. They are all wood, except for three. One of the three happened to be a ceramic clog, I’m guessing from holland (because it says holland on it); the next, a felt polar bear with a bow (the whole reason I bought the bag in the first place); and next, a funky ceramic thing. I’m not quite sure what it is, but I do know, it’s goin on the christmas tree!
Also! I am embarking on a new thing.. project.. whatever. I will be posting a daily drawing journal, where I draw a little something about my day. You can check it out on my flicker page! So be sure to check that out!

Today my mama and I made a DAV run (Disabled Am Vets thrift store). My goal: VINTAGE SHEETS! Yeah, that’s right. I’m totally in to funky, bright vintage sheets. Lucky me! I ended up getting a top sheet, a pillow case and a crocheted throw blanket, all for under $5. Yep. But hey, I’m still on the lookout for all sorts of rad sheets. Help me out folks, if you happen across some funky (and dirt cheep) sheets, I’ll pay ya back.

My inspiration for this whole new sheet obsession comes from this funky lady. Her flicker is sublime and has a whole album of her dreamy bed. Beds beds beds beds.

So i have finally finished my first package. I lovingly hand-crafted a package of goodies to send off to a certain young lady who lives away in a city i might live in, sometime in the future. This young lady happens to be a master illustrator and beautiful crafter and collector of the most extoridinary goods. (She once made a doll out of her cut off dreadlocks. She once had dreadlocks.)
I hope she doesn’t read this post before she gets this package.
In her package, she will be getting a full set of alphabet fabric magnets made from my super, vintage fabric stash; a clippy and a crocheted rock (because who doesn’t need more rocks? I love rocks, I can’t get enough of rocks… my hubby makes me get rid of rocks.) My personal fave of this lot happens to be the paper/fabric envelope. Mostly, because this is my FAVORITE piece of fabric I own. (Scored at the Methodist Church’s rummage sale two weeks ago. 12 pieces of this sweet fabric = $1.00 us… seriously…I fought a little old lady for it.)
Enjoy my lovely darling. I love you so very much!

The Japanese magazine featuring my friend Chris came out today. I got a hold of Chris’s copy so i could make copies. My board I did for him is in there. It’s a TINY picture, but hey, all press is good press right?I’m also working on a Logo for Chris too… just for fun. I’ve been playing with some new type, so it’s turning out pretty retro and cool.

So I was lurking the super-fabulous purl soho’s blog and was browsing their past tutorials when i came across this. How incredibly beautiful are their color combinations? I have just added these sets of embroidery to my never-ending wish list. (If I had everything on my wish-list… we’d need a whole other house, just for craft things… and clothes. Good thing it’s just a wish list.)
